摘要
1. 1. The arginase activity present in the fat body tissue of three species of insects has been characterized. The three species were: the silkmoths Hyalophora gloveri and Antheraea polyphemus and the cockroach Blaberus cranifera. Observations on certain properties of the pupal and adult enzymes of H. gloveri and A. polyphemus indicate that these properties do not change during development. 2. 2. Insect arginase shows most of the properties characteristic of arginases from other animal and plant species. Both differences and similarities exist between it and the arginase present in uricotelic vertebrates. © 1969.
