One cryptand and two macrocyclic ligands were studied by aqueous potentiometry in the presence and absence of various combinations of ferrous ion and sulfate ions. Appropriate stability constants were computed involving the ligands, hydrogen ion, ferrous ion and sulfate anion. This study is part of an ongoing investigation of binucleating ligands, and is the first report of sulfate binding to ferrous binuclear complexes.
