摘要：

A variation of the genetic algorithm called the ''eugenic genetic algorithm'' is shown to provide an effective tool for locating those elements of R(12) that belong to the Julia set of a plane quadratic mapping. This provides an unprecedently rapid method for the automatic generation of strange attractors.
