BA5SIO4CL6-EU, A NEW BLUE-EMITTING PHOTO-LUMINESCENT MATERIAL WITH HIGH QUENCHING TEMPERATURE

摘要
An investigation of the BaO-SiO2-BaCl2 system has shown the existence of several new phases: Ba5SiO4Cl6, Ba7Si2O7Cl8, and Ba5Si2O6Cl6. Activated by Eu2+, Ba5SiO4Cl6 is an efficient blue-emitting phosphor under u.v. and x-ray excitation. As a result of a small Stokes shift, the emission is characterized by a narrow bandwidth (30 nm at half-intensity) and a high quenching temperature. © 1979, The Electrochemical Society, Inc.
