A theoretical study of the positive-parity states in Sr88 and Sr89 has been performed using phenomenological two-body matrix elements. In Sr88, two uncoupled spaces were considered. In the first, the p12, p32, f52, and f72, proton orbitals were used to describe the possible excitations. In the second, neutron-neutron-hole states were calculated. Positive-parity levels in Sr89 were calculated using configurations formed by the coupling of one neutron to the proton states discussed above. The configurational makeup of the ground state, the E2 transition rate of the 1.85-MeV level, and other structure properties are discussed for Sr88. Spectra, stripping and nonstripping levels, and (p, p′) and (p, γ0) analog-state reactions are considered in the Sr89 model. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
