摘要：

Occasional cerebral complications during cardiac surgery seem to be caused by gas embolism. Evidence is presented here for the existence of regions of sub-atmospheric pressure in the external circulation - particularly in the roller pump - as a result of which bubbles of gas form in the blood. © 1969 Nature Publishing Group.
