LASER MAGNETIC-RESONANCE MEASUREMENT OF THE P-3(1)-P-3(2) FINE-STRUCTURE SPLITTINGS IN O-17 AND O-18

摘要
The P-3(1)-P-3(2) fine-structure splittings of O-17 and O-18 have been measured by far-infrared laser magnetic-resonance spectroscopy. The signals for O-17 were detected with a sample in its natural abundance (0.038%). The isotopic shifts from the corresponding interval in O-16 are +13.0 MHz for O-17 and +23.5 MHz for O-18, in accord with theoretical expectations.
