摘要
We calculate the speed of sound in a pion gas including interactions between pions using the results of chiral perturbation theory as well as a relativistic virial expansion with experimental phase shifts. Our result is that the speed of sound is considerably less than that for the corresponding ideal, relativistic gas. The ramifications of this result in the description of heavy-ion collisions at ultrarelativistic energies are noted. © 1990.
