摘要
This case demonstrates that spilling the contents of an ovarian teratoma during laparoscopic removal may cause significant problems. This report describes complications from spilling of the contents of a mature ovarian teratoma at the time of laparoscopic removal, including urinary tract infection, pain, and vesicle-colonic fistulization heralded by the unusual symptoms of trichouria and pneumaturia. The patient required reoperation to remove the seeded and growing remnants of a mature teratoma. Removal of mature teratomas laparoscopically presents many of the same risks of irritation, fistulization, and other problems as are present at laparotomy, even in the hands of experienced laparoscopic surgeons. The possibility of complications could be even greater when the intentional spill of these contents is performed to allow laparoscopic removal.
