摘要
The results of measurements of thermal expansion, Young's modulus, and the G modulus at elevated and low temperatures, and of hardness and density at room temperature, are reported for high purity manganese and Mn-Ni alloys with up to 40. 42% Ni as a function of heat treatment and cold work. It is concluded that Mn-Ni alloys with 10. 15 to 35. 30% Ni exhibit not only the Elinvar property but also have good oxidation and corrosion resistance, which makes them suitable for the manufacture of special precision measurement instruments.
