Excess molar enthalpies HEm of each of {one of the four butanols + methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK)} were measured at the temperature 298.15 K. All the mixings were endothermic. For the butanols, HEm values increase in the sequence: normal < tertiary < iso- < secondary. For the ketones, HEm values decrease when the aliphatic chain increases in length. © 1991 Academic Press Limited All rights reserved.
