摘要
The effective energy released in and following the fission of 235U, 239Pu and 241Pu by thermal neutrons, and of 238U by fission spectrum neutrons, is discussed. The recommended values are: 235U-192·9 ± 0·5 MeV/fission237U-193·9 ± 0·8 MeV/fission239Pu-198·5 ± 0·8 MeV/fission241U-200·3 ± 0·8 MeV/fission. These values include all contributions except from antineutrinos and very long-lived fission products. The detailed contributions are discussed, and inconsistencies in the experimental data are pointed out. In Appendix A, the contribution to the total useful energy release in a reactor from reactions other than fission are discussed briefly, and in Appendix B there is a discussion of the variations in effective energy from fission with incident neutron energy. © 1969.
