摘要
The lifetime of the first excited state of F19 has been measured by electronic timing using the inelastic scattering of protons to excite the state. Timing signals for the particles were obtained from a solid-state detector which also provided energy selection. The -ray detector was a 2-mm-thick by 2.5-cm-diam Na (Tl) crystal viewed by an RCA-8575 photomultiplier. The result obtained for the mean lifetime was 0.910.05 nsec. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
