摘要
A finite volume prediction for wind flow over an induced draft counter flow cooling tower is presented. A special feature of this flow is the interaction of the' flow through the cooling tower with the wind flow over the tower. The cooling tower structure is implemented as a series of internal boundaries, at which the discrete transport equations are modified to yield the appropriate boundary conditions for the velocity and pressure. The numerical prediction indicates that the wind significantly increases the flow rate through the windward intake. Similar behaviour was observed on a wind tunnel model.
