摘要
1. 1. Heating rate influenced heat tolerances of small tadpoles of Leptodactylus albilabris but had a negligible effect in larger ones. 2. 2. There was no significant difference in heat tolerance between populations from two different altitudes. 3. 3. Bufo marinus tadpoles had higher heat tolerances than those of L. albilabris. 4. 4. It is postulated that high heat tolerances permit maximization of body temperature and hence developmental rate, and this constitutes an adaptation to breeding in temporary ponds. © 1968.
