摘要
The Schwarz theory for the low-frequency dielectric dispersion of colloidal suspensions has been extended by introduction of a relaxation spectrum of ionic mobilities derived from properties of the diffuse double layer. The dispersion and absorption equations provide a reasonable fit for the experimental results of Schwan, Schwarz, Maczuk, and Pauly without the introduction of arbitrary parameters. A limitation of this theory is its failure to predict the observed frequency dependence of the dielectric increment at large ωτ.
