HISTAMINE LIBERATION INTO CEREBROSPINAL FLUID BY DRUGS APPLIED INTRAVENTRICULARLY

摘要
Lateral ventricles of the unanesthetized rabbit were perfused with artificial cerebro spinal fluid. When morphine, tubocurarine or veratrine was added to the perfusing fluid, a definite amount of histamine was found in the efflux. Since these drugs and histamine caused analogous central excitatory actions, which were suppressed by antihistaminics, histamine was regarded as the common mediator of the drug actions. Histamine liberation was confirmed also in the immobilized or anesthetized animals, in which no motor excite ment was displayed. It was suggested that the central excitatory actions of the liberated histamine were manifested probably through intraventricular chemoreceptors. © 1969, The Japanese Pharmacological Society.
