Optical quantum non-demolition measurements can be obtained from a crossed-phase-modulation effect between two light beams, which appears for instance in a two-photon non-linear medium. In this case, the quantum intensity fluctuations of the signal beam can be read non-destructively when detecting the "meter" beam. We discuss possible enhancement of this effect using optical cavities. A particularly simple and robust scheme is to resonate only a single noise sideband of the "meter" beam, while avoiding any cavity on the signal beam.
