摘要
Peculiarities of the polymer wear process in a pin-on-disc configuration are discussed and analysed. It is argued that the curvilinearity of displacement trajectories, as seen on the pin surface, is a characteristic and permanent feature of the pin-on-disc configuration regardless of whether the pin is held stationary or forced to rotate about its load axis independently of the disc. Equations describing the displacement trajectories are derived and used to produce a pattern of wear marks on the pin surface.
