摘要
A videotape showing African-American women attempting to quit smoking was shown to 511 predominantly African-American men and women in South Central Los Angeles. A posttest questionnaire showed that African-American women smokers identified with the character in the video more than other smokers or nonsmokers. Three-month smoking quit rates were 9.7% among the 165 smokers reached at follow-up and 4.6% including those not reached and were not higher for African-American women than other smokers.
