POSITIVE SPIN POLARIZATION OF THE PHOTOELECTRONS EMITTED NEAR PHOTOTHRESHOLD FROM CESIATED CO(0001)

摘要
At photothreshold the spin polarization of the photoelectrons emitted from cesiated Co (0 0 0 1) is positive, i.e., the majority of these photo-electrons have their spin magnetic moment directed parallel to the magnetization. In contrast, all calculations of the spin-polarized densities of state for Co find a negative polarization at the Fermi level. From this and other evidence it is concluded that the majority of the electrons are preferentially photoemitted compared to minority electrons.
