SPIN REORIENTATION TRANSITIONS IN DY(FE11TI)

摘要
The new intermetallic compound Dy(Fe//1//1Ti) which crystallizes in the tetragonal ThMn//1//2 structure exhibits a spin reorientation from plane to axis with increasing temperature. The reorientation, which was detected by thermomagnetic and Mossbauer measurements, has its onset at 80 K, and is complete at 200 K. The transitions are explained in a crystal-field model with B//2//0 equals 0. 30 K, B//4//0 equals 0. 53 multiplied by 10** minus **3 K and a molecular field coefficient n//R//T equals 158 mu //0.
