CONVERSION OF GUAYULE RESIN TO C1-C10 HYDROCARBONS ON ZEOLITE BASED CATALYSTS

摘要
The conversion of guayule resin to C1-C-10 hydrocarbons. using different zeolite based catalysts, has been studied. HY, CaHX and HZSM-5 zeolites and a silica-alumina amorphous matrix were tested. The best results were obtained with a physical mixture of 70 wt% HZSM-5 zeolite (Si/Al = 13) and 30 wt% silica-alumina amorphous matrix (Si/Al = 20), using 30 wt% sodium montmorillonite as a binder. The influence of temperature and space velocity on the product distribution was established. A comparative study with results obtained for other vegetable extracts is also presented.
