OBSERVATION OF NEUTRON PAIRING VIBRATION IN HG-206

摘要
Excited states of 206Hg have been observed for the first time by the 204Hg(t,p)206Hg reaction. In particular a level at 3625 keV is strongly excited by an L = 0 transition. Calculations which include particle-hole interactions suggest that this state is the neutron pairing vibration corresponding to the closed neutron shell at N = 126. The observed cross section for this state also agrees with this assumption. © 1978.
