摘要
A perturbation approximation is used to estimate the effect of intrinsic recombination in the derivation of sink strengths in the rate theory of void-swelling. The method is described in detail for cavities and long straight dislocations and the results for other types of sink are given in an appendix. The effects of the corrections on the swelling of a material containing cavities and dislocations are investigated. It is found that they may be neglected, except where the cavities are large, the sinks strengths of the cavities and dislocations are of the same order of magnitude and recombination is important. This may occur at high swelling at high temperatures near the swelling cut-off. The results are compared with another approach to the problem by Hayns. © 1979.
