摘要
Ablation of the frontal poles of adult female Sherman rats produced a chronic hyperthermia which was regulated with great precision at ambient temperatures of 11, 15, 25, and 37- C. provided that food and activity wheels were continuously available. The hyperthermia was not secondary to hyperactivity because it was maintained at 15- and 25- C. even though the Ss were housed in small cages which severely restricted their activity. Ss performed a learned response and obtained more infrared heat than controls at -5- C. Findings demonstrate that the frontal pole area is a common mediator of both behavioral and physiological controls of regulation. (18 ref.)
