摘要
Fiber sliding in the presence of residual stresses in ceramic composites is analyzed. The results indicate that measurements of the force-displacement relation for an indenter loaded onto the end of a fiber can be used to calculate the magnitude of the residual axial stress in the fiber. The technique is applied to measure residual stresses generated by thermal cycling of an SiC-glass ceramic composite. © 1990.
