摘要
Thirty 5-year-old children from low-income families were assigned at random to two treatments during an 8- week, 3 hour a day, Head Start program: 1) the language group received an intensive language experience based upon the Peabody Language Development Kit; 2) the second group received a more conventional socially oriented program with only incidental attention to language skill building.The language group made superior progress during the short training period and the advantage persisted over a year of kindergarten instruction. © Taylor & Francis.
