GAMMA-RAY SOURCE PROPERTIES AND COMPTON-SCATTERING

摘要
Different experimental methods of studying electron momentum density through the Compton effect are compared with regard to the nature and intensity of the radiation source (X-ray, γ-ray, synchroton), the photon energy, the resolution of the Compton profile, and the experimental configuration. Currently γ-ray sources with energies exceeding 100 keV are considered optimum. On balance neither on-line neutron capture sources, nor synchrotron storage rings appear preferable to the isolated radioactive source. © 1979.
