DIELECTRIC-PROPERTIES OF PB(MG1/3NB2/3)O3 CERAMICS PREPARED BY KCL MOLTEN-SALT SYNTHESIS

Dielectric properties of lead magnesium niobate ceramics prepared by the molten salt synthesis (MSS) method have been investigated as functions of the calcining temperature and sintering temperature in the range of 600°C-800°C and 1000°C- 1200°C, respectively. The perovskite phase which appears around 650°C increases remarkably with rising calcining temperature, and the pyrochlore phase almost disappeared near 800°C. As the sintering temperature increased, the dielectric constant increased, and then reached a saturated value. Tan 8 showed so stable value (< 0.001) at room temperature. These results can be explained by the effect of KCl and microstructure analysis. © 1991, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
