摘要
Time-resolved velocity interferometry measurements have been made on baron carbide and silicon carbide ceramics to assess dynamic equation-of-state and strength properties of these materials. Hugoniot precursor characteristics, and post-yield shack and release wave properties, indicated markedly different dynamic strength and flow behavior for the two carbides.
