LASER SPECTROSCOPY OF NEPTUNIUM - 1ST IONIZATION-POTENTIAL, LIFETIMES AND NEW HIGH-LYING ENERGY-LEVELS OF NP-1

摘要
The first ionization of neptunium is determined from the photoionization threshold and from Rydberg series observed by laser spectroscopy. The Rydberg series convergence limits yield the most accurate value. The radiative lifetimes of five levels in the 26200 - 29050-cm** minus **050-cm**1 range are measured. New energy levels, 27 odd and 37 even, in the 33000 - 000 - 37000-cm** minus **1 range are determined with approximately plus or minus 0. 5-cm** minus **1 precision.
