摘要
Mode-coupling approximations and an effective-medium approximation are applied to two kinetic Ising models exhibiting a sharp blocking transition to a non-ergodic phase. The models are variants of the two-spin facilitated kinetic Ising model with a directed rather than isotropic kinetic constraint. It is shown that the effective-medium approximation qualitatively describes the blocking transition, while the mode-coupling approximations fail completely.
