摘要
The growth and development of the cestode, Taenia hydatigena (Pallas, 1766), in the dog was studied over a period of 90 days. The recovery rate of worms was found to be 80%. During the prepatent period the scolex migrated down the small intestine but subsequently returned to the duodenal region. There was no close relationship between the age of the worm and its weight or length. Strobilation occurred at 7 days and the testes were present at 20 days. Fertilization was observed as early as 25 days and mature eggs were present with well developed embryophores at 48 days. Proglottids were first detected in the feces of dogs at 56 days. The number of eggs per proglottid varied, with a mean value of 28 × 103. © 1969.
