摘要
Differential PPE (photopyroelectric) method is proposed to measure local thermal diffusivity of semiconductors. In stead of signal amplitude vs distance relation, the phase difference vs modulation frequency characteristics are measured. Differential PPE method reflects the local thermal property irrespective to the generated heat by absorbed light. The thermal diffusivity of polycrystalline CdS detected by PVF2 transducer was found slightly lower compared with that of single crystalline CdS.
