摘要
1. 1. The distribution of Fe59 and the extent of iron accumulation in hepatopancreas, ovotestis and mantle of Biomphalaria glabrata have been studied. 2. 2. It was demonstrated that the Fe59 is taken up directly by the hepatopancreas of the snail and transferred to the ovotestis. 3. 3. The presence of ferritin and/or hemosiderin in the hepatopancreas and ovotestis was shown by electron microscopy study. 4. 4. The data presented support the conclusion that the hepatopancreas performs the function of an active metabolic storage depot of iron. © 1969.
