DIODE-LASER WAVE-GUIDING IN POLYDIACETYLENE FILMS

摘要
Waveguiding in spun p-3BCMU films has been observed for the first time with laser diode sources, at λ = 860 nm and λ = 670 nm. Mode numbers for both TE and TM modes were measured by means of m-line spectroscopy, the results suggesting a strong film birefringence. Attenuation measurements carried out with the scanning fibre technique give values of about 10dB/cm and 20dB/cm at 860 nm and 670 nm, respectively. © 1990, The Institution of Electrical Engineers.
