摘要
A method to detect short-chain alpha-hydroxyaldehydes in mammalian tissues is described. Aldehydes or their masked precursor molecules are converted into dithiolane derivatives. These are separated by thin-layer chromatography and registered by multiple ion monitoring after trimethylsilylation. Fragmentation of 2-(1'-trimethylsilyloxy)-1,3-dithiolanes was studied by using electron impact ionization.
