AMBIENT PRESSURE SYNTHESIS OF TERNARY GROUP(V) NITRIDES

摘要
We describe the ambient pressure synthesis of MTaN2 (M = Na or K), and the previously unreported, isostructural niobium analogs by the use of an ammonia flow system, starting with either Ta3N5 or tantalum metal, or either NbN or niobium metal, respectively, and an excess of the alkali metal amide at 500°C. The products are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. In addition, we describe our attempts to deintercalate NaTaN2 using NO2PF6. © 1992.
