摘要
Traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation usually causes extremely serious damage to the brain stem, resulting in sudden death of the victims. For this reason, there have been only a few previous reports of survivors, with almost every author suggesting hyperextension as the mechanism of this injury.19 We concluded, however, that atlantoaxial rotatory fixation accompanying this injury could suggest a hyperflexion mechanism. © 1993, J.B.
