摘要
The reaction between oxalic acid and chromic acid has been investigated. The kinetic studies show that the rate is proportional to the concentration of HCrO4- and to the square of the concentration of undissociated oxalic acid. The transition complex, therefore, has the composition (2H2C2O4 + HCrO4-). It is suggested that the observed rate laws can be explained by assuming that the chromic acid reacts with oxalic acid to form highly reactive species HOCrO2(OCOCOOH) and this react with mono-oxalate ion to give the products. The energy of activation and the entropy of activation for the reaction have values 12·80 kcal. mole-1 and -18·60 e.u. respectively at [H+] = 0·10 M. © 1969.
