HE-DIFFRACTION STUDIES OF THE LOW-COVERAGE (1X3)-H AND THE SATURATION (1X1)-2H PHASES ON RH(110)

摘要
He-diffraction investigations for the (1 X 3)-H and (1 X 1)-2H phases on Rh(110) are presented. Quantitative intensity calculations yield the respective corrugation functions, from which the adsorbate locations relative to the close-packed Rh rows are derived. Good agreement with the low-energy electron-diffraction (LEED) results is obtained for the (1 X 1)-2H structure. For the (1 X 3)-H phase, a structural model is proposed that differs from the one derived on the basis of LEED especially with regard to the adsorbate-induced substrate reconstruction.
