摘要
The degradation of the racemate of the herbicide 2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)propionic acid [Dichlorprop; DCPP] by a marine microbial community was investigated by High-performance liquid chromatography [HPLC] using alpha-1-AGP as chiral stationary phase. The microorganisms degraded exclusively the R-enantiomer, while the S-enantiomer remained unaffected. 2,4-Dichlorophenol was identified as the first degradation product of the R-enantiomer , which implies an increase in toxicity by about an order of magnitude according to the MICROTOX-test.
