Since the first description of percutaneous endopyelotomy by Wickham and Kellett (1983) and its subsequent popularisation (Badlani et al., 1986), this procedure has become an effective alternative to standard open pyeloplasty in the management of pelviureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction. More recently, a method of performing endopyelotomy through the ureteroscope has been reported (Clayman and Picus, 1988). © 1991 British Journal of Urology
