摘要：

The action of p-chloro-dl-phenylalanine on Pseudomonas sp. (11299a) was investigated. This amino acid analog inhibited the growth of the organism on phenylalanine and tyrosine but not on asparagine. In order to determine its mode of action, experiments on phenylalanine hydroxylase levels and activity, amino acid transport, and protein synthesis in Pseudomonas sp. were carried out. The data strongly suggest that the growth inhibition is due to competitive inhibition of an induced aromatic amino acid transport system by p-chloro-dl-phenylalanine. © 1969.
