ANALYSIS OF THE 5S(2)5P(2), 5S5P(3), 5S(2)5P6S AND 5S(2)5P5D CONFIGURATIONS OF BA-VII

The spectrum of barium was photographed m the 300 angstrom-1220 angstrom wave-length region on a 3-m normal incidence spectrograph using a triggered spark source. These observations lead us to establish all five levels of the 5s(2)5p2 ground configuration and all but one J = 4 level, of the 5s5p3, 5s(2)5p5d and 5s(2)5p6s excited configurations of Ba VII. Seventy lines have been classified in this spectrum. Multiconfiguration interactions calculations also involving 5s(2)5p6d and 5s(2)5p7s configurations were carried out to interpret the spectrum.
