FILMS FOR NEUTRON RADIOGRAPHY - AN INVESTIGATION OF FILM-INTENSIFYING SCREEN IMAGE RECORDERS

摘要
This report presents the characteristic curves of induced density against neutron exposure for the film-intensifying screen image recording systems used in radiography with beams of neutron. The fastest screen in each of the three categories, crystalline, glass and metal foil, was selected for the work, together with all films of potential use from UK manufacturers. The characteristics of the neutron beam used and the experimental techniques are described in some detail. Spectral response curves for the screens to facilitate adjustment of the characteristics to suit other neutron beams and some resolving power data are also included.
