The cooling cell prevents liquid He-4 from boiling. The temperature outside the cell has to be lower than that of the bath by 0.01 K. The best way to achieve this is to rise the vapour pressure of the bath to 10-15 Torr. The helium level in the cell can be kept constant with the help of a valve controlled by a level indicator. On using the cell the cost of the cryostat will be ca 5% higher, but the expenses of the whole optical cryogenic installation are reduced by 30% and the liquid He consumption will be ca 35% lower.
