摘要
The study investigated the effects of a 10-week program of soccer training followed by 5 weeks detraining. The measures of primary interest to this study were: Selected pre-ejection cardiac intervals; heart rates during a standard submaximal work task; selected metabolic measures; and performance time of an all-out work task. All tests were administered at the beginning of training, after 5 and 10 weeks training, and following 5 weeks detraining. The major findings indicated: (a) changes in cardiac and metabolic measures are reflected more during work than at rest; (b) the program of soccer training resulted in significant improvement of cardiorespiratory endurance; and (c) 5 weeks detraining resulted in significant deterioration of fitness gains. © 1969 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
