VALIDATION OF A 3-D FINITE-ELEMENT PROGRAM COUPLED WITH AUTOMATIC REMESHING

摘要
This paper deals with the validation of the whole hot forging process simulation of an industrial three-dimensional part (a transmission barrel piston chamber). We present the three-dimensional finite-element software FORGE3 and the remeshing procedure coupled with it. The material is assumed to follow the Norton Hoff law (viscoplastic and incompressible). With the updated lagrangian approach, the mesh degeneracy stops the simulation. It requires to have a remeshing operation to carry on the computation. We describe the mesh generator that has been developed and which enables the simulation of the whole forging process. To validate the code, we compare the numerical results with the experimental ones.
